Short Answer Questions
Describe something you have built recently.
Aside from my day job as a Software Architect and System Designer, I am currently working on two personal projects. The first is an application platform leveraging iOS/Objective-C, Amazon EC2, DynamoDB, S3, SNS, SQS. The second project uses Hadoop map/reduce and algorithms for searching high-dimensional spaces to predict protein folding scenarios.
Why do you want to work on a startup or side project?
Choosing the startup life isn't a decision to be taken lightly. The hours are long, the stress is high, and as one of only a handful of people who both success and failure can be attributed to, the spotlight's always on. Yet, for all that pressure, the rewards that come with the variety of work, creative latitude, and sense of personal accomplishment are indescribable.
Anything else you'd like to mention about yourself?
I have extensive experience in software architecture, design, development and leading teams towards common goals. My background is in data centric, distributed systems at several early stage startups and high growth companies. I am an expert in Java, Linux, and related platforms and technologies but quite open and flexible to learning new skills. In addition, I have stayed abreast of industry standards and emerging technologies with a personal passion for high performance application frameworks and message oriented middleware. Moreover, I am exceptionally results oriented, dedicating everything to getting my projects done, and done well.
